Whenever a person came to the Prophet with his alms, the Prophet would say, "O Allah! Send your Blessings upon so and<br />

so." My father went to the Prophet with his alms and the Prophet said, "O Allah! Send your blessings upon the offspring of<br />

Abu Aufa."<br />

The Prophet visited me during Hajjat ul-Wada' while I was suffering from a disease which brought me to the verge of death. I<br />

said, "O Allah's Apostle! My ailment has reached such a (bad) state as you see, and I have much wealth, but I have no one to<br />

inherit from me except my only daughter. Shall I give 2/3 of my property as alms (in charity)?" The Prophet said, "No," I said,<br />

"Shall I give half of my property as alms?" He said, "No." I said, "(Shall I give) 1/3 of it?" He replied, "1/3, and even 1/3 is too<br />

much. It is better for you to leave your inheritors wealthy rather than to leave them poor, begging people (for their<br />

sustenance); and whatever you spend for Allah's Sake, you will get reward for it even for the morsel of food which you put in<br />

your wife's mouth<br />

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) prescribed the sadaqah (alms) relating to the breaking of the fast as a purification<br />

accepted as zakat. If anyone pays it after the prayer, that will be a sadaqah like other sadaqahs (alms).<br />

work or does not work?" He said, "Then he should help the oppressed unhappy person (by word or action or both)." They<br />

said, "If he does not do it?" He said, "Then he should enjoin what is good (or said what is reasonable)." They said, "If he does<br />

not do that?" He said, "Then he should refrain from doing evil, for that will be considered for Him as a Sadaqa (charity)."<br />

18:46 - Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: but the things that endure Good<br />

Deeds are best in the sight of thy Lord as rewards and best as (the foundation for) hopes. 2387<br />
