have him believe you when you are lying.<br />

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from hunger, for it is an evil bed-fellow;<br />

and I seek refuge in Thee from treachery, for it is an evil hidden trait."<br />

TREASURES:<br />

6:50 - Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah nor do I know what is hidden nor do<br />

I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "Can the blind be held<br />

equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not? 867868<br />

867 Literally it might mean that the men of God are not like vulgar soothsayers, who pretend to reveal hidden treasures, or<br />

peer into future, or claim to be something of a different nature from men. But the meaning is wider: They deal out<br />

God's great treasures of truth, but the treasures are not theirs, but God's; they have greater insight into the higher<br />

things, but that insight is not due to their own wisdom, but to God's inspiration; they are of the same flesh and blood<br />

with us, and the sublimity of their words and teaching arises through God's grace- to them and to those who hear<br />

them. (6.50)<br />

868 Therefore compare not the men of God ("the seeing") with ordinary men ("the blind"). The men of God, although they<br />

be but men, have the higher light with them; therefore do not exact of them petty ephemeral services. Though they are<br />

men, they are not as other men, and are entitled to reverence. (6.50)<br />

6:59 - With Him are the keys of the Unseen the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth<br />

whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there<br />

is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth nor anything fresh or dry (green or<br />

withered) but is (inscribed) in a Record Clear (to those who can read). 879880<br />

880 This is the mystic Record, the archetypal Plan, the Eternal Law, according to which everything seen and unseen is<br />

ordered and regulated. There is much mystic doctrine here, explained by beautiful metaphors and illustrations. The<br />

simplest things in Nature are subject to His Law. The fresh and the withered, the living and the lifeless-nothing is<br />

outside the Plan of His Creation. (6.59)<br />

9:35 - On the day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of hell and with it will<br />

be branded their foreheads their flanks and their backs "this is the (treasure) which ye buried<br />

for yourselves: taste ye then the (treasures) ye buried!" 12931294<br />

1293 Gold and silver, symbolising wealth which these people cherished even more than the good pleasure of their Lord, will<br />

not only be the cause but the instrument whereby they would receive a grievous punishment. (9.35)<br />

1294 The voice enforces the moral: "did you expect satisfaction or salvation from the treasures that you misused? Behold!<br />

they add to your torment!" (9.35)<br />

11:31 - "I tell you not that with me are the Treasures of Allah nor do I know what is hidden nor claim<br />

I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant<br />

them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should if I did indeed be a<br />

1522 The eighth point that Noah urges is that he is not a mere vulgar soothsayer pretending to reveal secrets not worth<br />

knowing, nor an angel living in another world, with no ties to them. He is their real well-wisher, delivering a true<br />

Message from Allah. (11.31)<br />

1524 But Noah will not close his argument without defending the men of Faith, whom the Chiefs despise because they are<br />

lacking in worldly goods. He tells them plainly that Allah perhaps sees in them something in which they, the arrogant<br />

Chiefs, are lacking. Their spiritual faculties can only be appreciated truly by Him to Whom all the secrets of the spirit<br />

are open. But he, Noah, must declare boldly his own Faith, and this is the ninth point in his argument. (11.31)<br />
