Hepar deserves particular attention in cases of chronic catarrh remaining after croupor measles, or in the case of individuals who had taken muchMercury.Spongia bears great resemblance to the former drug both symptomatically as well as in its general indications. It too is indiafter croup and measles, in cases of neglected acute catarrh, incase of singers. It is particularly required for the cough withburning titillation in the larynx, which sets in more particularlnight or after loud talking. The cough has a barking sound, themucus is hard to bring up, tenacious, yellowish, and the attacksapt to be accompanied by dyspnoea emanating from the glottis.lodium is one of the most important remedies in this afiection.Among the general indications for Iodine we distinguish the following : chronic catarrh of scrofulous and mercurialized individuals, or remaining after croup or other acute affections, or complicated with chronic pharyngeal catarrh. It corresponds more especially to a catarrh accompanying an incipient, not a fully developed tuberculosis, but likewisforms of catarrh not resulting from a dyscrasic origin, when thefollowing symptoms are present: Slight hoarseness, rather a roughness of the throat, caused by an accumulation of lumps of hardhttp://www.archive.org/stream/sciencetherapeu00kafkgoog/sciencetherapeu00kafkgoog_djvu.txt
