Full text <strong>of</strong> "<strong>The</strong> <strong>Science</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong>rapeutics: According to the Principles <strong>of</strong> Homeopath...Page 577 <strong>of</strong> 653<strong>The</strong> results <strong>of</strong> our pathological and anatomical investigationsshow that the blood <strong>of</strong> ansemic individuals is deficient in red copuscles ; it contains less hsematin and fibrin, but on the otheran excess <strong>of</strong> serum.<strong>The</strong> ansemic blood is fluid, pale, the clot is small, s<strong>of</strong>t, floatsa quantity <strong>of</strong> serum, its specific gravity is diminished ; the cramentum which is sometimes entirely wanting, is less dense andeasily disintegrated.Anaemia is either a primary or secondary morbid process.A constitutional anaemia depends upon certain ante-natal influences or conditions <strong>of</strong> development; its causes are either unknor not satisfactorily accounted for.It is either congenital, or inherent in the process <strong>of</strong> developmenor in the period <strong>of</strong> involution.Congenital anaemia occurs among children <strong>of</strong> sickly, debilitatedparents or <strong>of</strong> parents afflicted with anaemia, tuberculosis, consttional syphilis, carcinoma or other exhausting diseases; it occur688 Anaemia, Oligaemia.among children born before their full term, among children bomfeeble, or whose mothers were suffering with uterine diseases orhemorrhages.Ansemia inherent in the period <strong>of</strong> development either occursduring the first, less frequently during the secdhd dentition, orthe children are weaned, or in consequence <strong>of</strong> a too rapid growthor at the period <strong>of</strong> pubescence, more particularly if this periodor is unduly protracted, or if the sexual instinct is awakened prmaturely and is attended with frequent excitement <strong>of</strong> the fancyand the sexual organs (chlorosis).<strong>The</strong> ansemia <strong>of</strong> involution most commonly occurs during thecritical period <strong>of</strong> females, or during old age, or if marasmus setprematurely.Consecutive anaemia sets in simultaneously with, or in consequence <strong>of</strong> derangements the causes <strong>of</strong> which are generally knownand directly diminish the quantity and deteriorate the quality <strong>of</strong>the blood.<strong>The</strong> quantity <strong>of</strong> the blood is diminished by acute losses <strong>of</strong> thisfluid, such as bloodletting, hemorrhages, operations, wounds, andlikewise by frequent attacks <strong>of</strong> chronic hemorrhage.<strong>The</strong> quantity and quality <strong>of</strong> the blood are impaired by losses <strong>of</strong>fluids, as in consequence <strong>of</strong> catharsis and diarrhoea, continued <strong>of</strong>requent vomiting, pr<strong>of</strong>use suppuration, excessive or too long continued nursing, pr<strong>of</strong>use blennorrhoea and perspiration, ptyalism,copious nocturnal emissions, onanism and other sexual excesses.A loss <strong>of</strong> strength, such as may arise' Irom excessive muscularexertions, long marches, running, etc., or from hard work, afterhttp://www.archive.org/stream/sciencetherapeu00kafkgoog/sciencetherapeu00kafkgoog_djvu.txt
