Almost in every case <strong>of</strong> this kind a largeror smaller quantity <strong>of</strong> urine will be found left in the bladder ;long as this urine is pure and undecomposed, it only causes ursemsymptoms ; but as soon as ammonia develops itself in this urine,and the fluid becomes cloudy, acrid and spreads a fetid odor, ammonisemic symptoms make their appearance.In such cases it is absolutely necessary to draw <strong>of</strong>f the urine atleast twice a day with the catheter in order that all stagnationurine may be prevented.
