All we can do is to appease as muchas possible the nocturnal tormenting pains, to preserve the patieappetite and strength, to stop the hemorrhage that may set in, tocorrect the air impregnated with the pestiferous odor <strong>of</strong> the foulichor, to arrest the colliquative diarrhcea, etc.<strong>The</strong> treatment is conducted as advised by Beehr. A few additional remedies are recommended such as China 8 for extremedebility, or China and Phosphorus for the stitching pains. ArseniPhosphorus and the Arsen. <strong>of</strong> Quinine for the colliquative diarrhoAcidum sulphuricum 1 for hemorrhage at the same time applyingice-water externally, or a solution <strong>of</strong> the Perchloride <strong>of</strong> Iron, oeven touching the bleeding vessel with the real cautery.<strong>The</strong> horrid odor may be neutralized to some extent by coveringthe bottom <strong>of</strong> the sore with a thick layer <strong>of</strong> pulverized charcoalwhich absorbs the ichor; we cause the ulcers to be cleansed severtimes a day with tepid water, and we have the sick chamber airedand sprinkled with Chlore or Kreosote-water [or with the Perman106 Diseases <strong>of</strong> the Female Sexual Organs.ganate <strong>of</strong> Potash.] As regards the use <strong>of</strong> caustics <strong>of</strong> any kind,after the cancer is fully developed, we have never seen them do tleast good, on the contrary they seem to increase the pain and prmote the spread <strong>of</strong> the ulcer.If the remedies which we use, do not produce the least favorableresult, we give the patient Morphine from motives <strong>of</strong> humanity, asthe only efficient palliative at our disposal.Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Franklin <strong>of</strong> the St. Louis College <strong>of</strong> Homoeopathyemphatically recommends a speedy extirpation <strong>of</strong> the canceroustumor and claims for the operation an almost uniform success provided every vestige <strong>of</strong> the cancer is removed, and not a singlecancer-cell is left behind.
