It is likewise an excellent remedy insome forms of pulmonary hemorrhage in the case of phthisickypersons, where the selection depends more, however, upon the restof the symptoms than upon the hemorrhage.Ipecacuanha will not often be found indicated where pulmonarycongestions are evidently present. It is indicated by the followisymptoms : Spasmodic, suffc^cative cough with shortness of breathas in asthma, even unto vomiting ; not too copious hemorrhage, thblood being very dark and mixed with mucus ; pale or bluishcomplexion. In many respects Ipecacuanha acts very similarly toDigitalis, except that Ipecac, has none of the symptoms caused byobstructions in the pulmonary circulation.Ledum palustre has yielded some practical results in pulmonaryhemorrhage. Its local symptoms, however, are so indefinite thatthe homceopathicity of the drug cannot possibly be determined bymeans of them. It is said to be most useful in case of obstructioin the portal circulation.Millefolium is much praised, although we have no very special indications for this drug. We find the following in Hartmann : "Inalmost every variety of hemorrhage, and likewise in pulmonaryhemorrhage.
