It was a case <strong>of</strong> prolapsus with ulceration <strong>of</strong> nineyears* standing, and was cured perfectly by means <strong>of</strong> Helonin, afta number <strong>of</strong> other remedies had been used either without, or withonly partial succlss. Congestive symptoms are prominently presentin uterine diseases where Helonias is used, in amenorrhcea, menorrhagia, prolapsus, etc.Senecio aureus, life-root, is possessed <strong>of</strong> fine curative powers ipainful menstruation when the menses occur prematurely and arevery pr<strong>of</strong>use ; the patient suflfers greatly with violent uterineat the time <strong>of</strong> the menses. Metrorrhagia*Uterine Semorrhage.We deem it unnecessary to justify the distinction we have drawnbetween menorrhagia and metrorrhagia ; both difier in their essential characteristics. When speaking <strong>of</strong> the treatment, we have included among the remedies for ordinary metrorrhagia those thatrefer more specially to metrorrhagia during confinement as well aduring pregnancy.An hemorrhage from the unimpregnated uterus is mostly due tothe same causes as menorrhagia. Every circumstance that haspower to determine an excessive flow <strong>of</strong> blood to the uterus, maybecome the cause <strong>of</strong> metrorrhagia. It may likewise occur in consequence <strong>of</strong> a number <strong>of</strong> pathological alterations <strong>of</strong> the uterine sstance and <strong>of</strong> adventitious growths in the uterine cavity. Hemorrhages <strong>of</strong> this kind are so common that every loss <strong>of</strong> blood whichcannot be attributed to the menses, ought to excite a suspicion tit is owing to the presence <strong>of</strong> material lesions.
