In selecting aremedy, it is not only of importance that the exciting causes shobe carefully investigated, but that the physician should understawhether the ansemia he is called up)on to treat, is of a primarysecondary character. A primary ansemia generally admits of adirect treatment and is curable, whereas a secondary ansemia alwarequires a careful consideration of the primary pathological procand can only be reached indirectly by homoeopathic remedial agentand not unfrequently resists the most rational and judicious treament.A direct anti-anseraic treatment requires, beside the removal ofthe cause and a suitable diet, the use of such remedies as have iin their power to correct the process of sanguification by theirdirect influence. We have no universal specific for ansemia. Afteinvestigating the various forms of anaemia, their causes and themorbid processes upon which they depend, we are able to availourselves of a considerable number of remedies whose effects uponthe human organism have been carefully studied, and by theirmeans to obtain favorable results with surprising rapidity even isevere cases where medicinal aid seemed all but useless.Since the selection of homceopathic remedies for ansemia is principally determined by the nature of the exciting causes and by thresemblance between the remedies and the disease, we have deemedit proper to present the various forms of ansemia and to indicatethe special treatment of each of them. Congenital Anieniia.Owing to liemorrhages of the mother during pregnancy or duringthe act of parturition, children are often born ansemic.
