Einen Hinweis auf die Ausrichtung der HAP-Standards geben die Sektionen „Verfahrens- und
Vorgehensweisen“ und „Einrichtung und Ausstattung“, die ihrer Bezeichnung nach bereits auf
eine Prozeß- und Strukturorientierung hinweisen. Eine nähere Betrachtung bestätigt diese An-
nahme. Es zeigt sich, daß die überwiegende Anzahl der Standards prozeßorientiert ist. Aller-
dings enthält nahezu jeder Abschnitt ebenfalls eine gewisse Anzahl von Strukturstandards,
die zwischen 2 bis 3 Standards (z.B. im Abschnitt 5.4 „Dienstleistungen der Wäscherei“) und
24 Standards (z.B. Abschnitt 3.5 „Dienstleistungen der Apotheke“) variieren kann. 589 Wie

1.2 Health And Safety
C Facilities And Equipment
Facilities and equipment should meet the standards required by health and safety legis-
lation.
1. Facilities and equipment are available for the safe and efficient operation of each service.
2. The environment is conducive to work which is performed there.
3. Equipment and facilities conform to health and safety regulations and are certified as
such.
4. All equipment is subject to planned preventative maintenance. (HSE 1992).
5. There is sufficient storage space for the safe and efficient operation of each service.
6. First aid equipment is provided and easily accessible for use by the appointed “First
Aider”.
7. The equipment is checked regulary against a written contents list.
8. Appropriate protective clothing is provided for staff in each department.
9. As far as is reasonably practical, appropriate lifting aids are provided wherever required
according to assessed need.
10. Facilities and equipment for fire prevention and control are available as required by legislation
and local fire regulations.
11. There is a system for communicating defects in equipment which is known to all staff.
