5.3.5.1 Anwendungsbereich, Ausrichtung und Fokus
Die „Standards For Comprehensive Health Services“ sind anwendbar auf alle Einrichtungen
des kanadischen Gesundheitswesens, die präventiv, fördernd, heilend und unterstützend tätig
sind. 657 Das Spektrum der Standards umfaßt „Community Services“ (z.B. Einrichtungen von
Ärzten und deren Kliniken sowie soziale oder häusliche Dienste), „Pre-hospital Emergency
Care“ (z.B. ambulante medizinische Versorgung) und „In-patient 658 Care and Service Deli-
very“ (z.B. Versorgung von Not- bzw. Unfallpatienten). Letztgenannte Einrichtungen weisen
die meisten Standards vor (166 Stück), im Abstand folgen die „Community Services“ (38
Stück) und „Pre-hospital Emergency Care“ (14 Stück).
Die Ausrichtung der Standards kann als prozeßorientiert bewertet werden und verteilt sich
nahezu gleichmäßig auf alle Bereiche des Dokuments, wie nachfolgende Beispiele belegen:

2.1 Team members co-ordinate the following activities
- identifying which individuals and/or groups will be offered care and service
- monitoring client/patient demand for services
- waiting lists are regulary reviewed and revised in accordance with changing
- client/patient needs
- determining the fit between client/patient needs and services offered
