The development and history <strong>of</strong> regulation and management for ocean<br />

shrimp (Pandalus jordani) fishery <strong>of</strong>f the U.S. Pacific coast are described.<br />

Biological data on distribution, migration, life history, size, age, growth,<br />

and mortality is summarized. The status <strong>of</strong> the resource is questionable with<br />

low yields expected in the future.<br />

In 1988, 67 million red drum (Scianenops ocellatus) eggs, fry and<br />

fingerlings were stocked into Texas Bays. Matagorda Bay received 14 million<br />

fry and fingerling spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus). Galveston Bay<br />

received 4 million striped bass (Morone saxatilis) fry and 313 thousand<br />

fingerlings. The Brazos River received 570 striped bass fingerlings.<br />
