This amendment provides a definition <strong>of</strong> overfishing for white shrimp and<br />

provides for remedial action to restore the stock if overfishing should occur.<br />

It provides for revising the overfishing indices for brown, white, and pink<br />

shrimp when new data become available. A total allowable level <strong>of</strong> foreign<br />

fishing for royal red shrimp is to be terminated to allow a higher level <strong>of</strong><br />

catch by the domestic fleet. A revised definition <strong>of</strong> overfishing and a<br />
