existing fishery management measures; (4) project the economic effects <strong>of</strong><br />

alternative management measures; and (5) develop fishery management policies<br />

and measures which will increase the long-term economic and social benefits to<br />

the nation from sustainable <strong>fisheries</strong>. The secondary missions are (1) to<br />

provide related economic information to other Federal and state agencies,<br />

foreign and international agencies, the fishing industry, other interest<br />

groups, and the general public; and (2) to respond to NMFS requests for other<br />

types <strong>of</strong> economic information.<br />
