Even today,the Chinese government devises various political and social plans to help attainthe goal of assimilation; in order to attain this goal, the Chinese governmentdoes not respect the rights or liberties of the minorities, which are guaranteedunder the Chinese Constitution, and violates rights, such as the right to speakone’s native language, education in one’s native language, freedom of expression,freedom of religion, and freedom of propagation. The Uyghur Turks demand thatthe Chinese administration abandons these assimilation and annihilation policiesthat are inflicted upon minorities, and that they respect human rights, minorityrights, cultural rights, and grant minorities the right to self determination.286
