Statistics show thatfatal diseases, such as immune deficiency and congenital malformations are verywidespread among the people of East Turkistan due to these nuclear tests.Under the project of changing the demographic structure of East Turkistan,the Chinese government has forced the Uyghur people to emigrate to the interiorof China. This practice targets Uyghur young people who are at ages to marryor start working; these people are forced to migrate to the regions in the southand west of China. There is a special program to ensure that Uyghur people areassimilated socially and culturally within Chinese society and that adopt theChinese traditions and customs.Furthermore, the Chinese government systematically forces young Uyghurgirls to emigrate to the west and south of China, where they are forced to work infactories or on farms, under inhuman conditions. Most of them are subjected tohumiliating treatment and abuse by the Chinese people.In the same way that the Uyghur people face changing their history anddemography in their own country, they also face human rights violations from theChinese government. They have been deprived of their rights and liberties. TheChinese regime is making efforts to demolish their identities through oppressionand violence. Therefore, many Uyghur people have left their homelands andsought refuge in neighboring countries. These people have immigrated toneighboring countries, such as Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Kashmir, Pakistan andIndia, undertaking long and challenging journeys, sometimes at the cost of theirlives. Some of them live as refugees and others have sought political asylum in thesecountries; still others have been extradited under heavy pressure from the Chinesegovernment, as they have entered these countries through illegal channels. TheChinese government claims that such Uyghur immigrants are terrorists who haveleft the country illegally. The Uyghur refugees are sometimes handed back to theChinese government in response to intense political and economic pressure, laterto be executed by the Chinese authorities.In this context, Cambodia has allowed 20 Uyghur refugees to be extraditedto China in accordance with immigration regulations. The reason given forthese deportations is that they had entered Cambodian territory through illegal408
