Sirajeddin Azizi SemseddinRadio of JeddahTranslated from Arabic by Azbe KezbaniEast Turkistan: The Road to Freedom and theRight to Self-DeterminationIn the name of God the MercifulFreedom is an inalienable right that was given by God to all people, withoutexception; in the Holy Qur’an the Almighty says: “We have honored the sonsof Adam’’. However, these rights have been constantly violated by the enemiesof freedom. The people of Turkistan have lived for a long time deprived of theirliberty and their free-will has been abused, due to a brutal occupation of theircountry. If we examine the history of Turkistan, which extends back thousands ofyears, these people have lived in the area which is larger than 1.8 million squarekilometers in a free and independent manner, far removed from the greed of otherpeople. From the time of Sultan Satuq Bughra Khan they enjoyed a golden era;Islam was accepted in 920; in 960 it was announced that Islam was now theofficial religion of the state.Regrettably, for more than two hundred years these people has been exposedto aggression that is aimed at trying to force them to submit to the Chineseinvaders, but they have never given up, rather continuing to resist and struggle tolive a free and independent life on their own land.Clearly East Turkistan is the original home of the Turkish people from thetime that this earth was created by God. This land, Central Asia, has been thecradle of civilizations, cultures and inventions throughout the ages and documentsdemonstrate that Turkistan has always acted as a cradle of human civilizations. Moreover, the discoveries made by an American geological mission in excavationsthat were carried out in 1904 support this hypothesis. The team discoveredhistorical monuments in the eastern Caspian Sea, near the city of Ashgabat; thesefindings indicated that Turkistan played an important role in human civilization585
