Chinese policealso killed those prisoners who cried a lot during the torture by shooting themin the heads. And there are those who have yet to be found! 830 people werekilled during such torture in one night. Most of the bodies of these 830 victimswere burnt and their ashes were thrown into garbage tanks. The bodies of someof these victims were delivered back to their families in return for their signatureconfirming that they had been killed during the conflicts on July 5 in Urumchi;that is, the police recorded that these people had not been killed because of torture,but rather in conflicts between two hostile groups. The tortures were not limitedto that listed above. Some prisoners were covered with wet towels from theirbelly up to shoulders. Sticks were also covered with towels and the prisoners werethen beaten. This causes organ failure with no sigh of bruising. The prisoners arethen released and sent back home where they soon die due to organ failure. Thedeath certificate then says that they died due to sudden heart attack, or somethingelse. Four Uyghur police officers who witnessed all this torture later committedsuicide. Many others resigned. The testimonies of Uyghur police officers whotortured their brothers and sisters are unbelievable …Both the Chinese and theUyghur police officers participated in the torture and interrogations. A Uyghurpolice officer beats an Uyghur prisoner and asks him with whom he is in contact,and with whom he is cooperating. After a short time of resistance, the prisonerprovides the names of the police officer’s friends. The Uyghur officer beats himsome more to ensure that he does not speak and give the name of these friends tothe Chinese officers. The prisoner, being beaten more violently, gives everyone’sname. As he says these names, the Uyghur officer beats the Uyghur prisoner todeath -to ensure that he does not speak again! The testimony of another policeofficer is also hard to believe. The Chinese police broke the necks of babies whohad been arrested with their mothers and threw their bodies into a river. 48After the events, the Chinese administration sentenced some UyghurTurks to death.
