In recent years, cholera, leprosy, hepatitis, and HIVhave become common medical problems. Medical expenses, on the other hand,are also a great problem for the majority of Uyghurs. There are countless caseswhere patients have not been admitted to hospital or have not been seen by adoctor, even in emergency situations, due to a failure to pay in advance; this hasresulted in the loss of many lives.Nuclear testing and environmental problemsThe Chinese nuclear testing in East Turkistan over the past three decadescontinues to produce ecological disasters that pollute drinking water and foodsupplies, affect livestock and endanger human life. According to various sourcesin East Turkistan, babies with horrible deformities continue to be born. Tragically,the polluted districts that border on the nuclear test site still have not receivedeven elementary medical aid.
