East Turkistan After July 5/ Seyit Tumturkmarch on the city centre. They engaged into conflicts with the Chinese peoplewhom they met on their way. They overturned and set cars on fire. Some Chineseand Uyghur people lost their lives during these conflicts. Although securityforces were everywhere during these conflicts, they merely looked on and did notintervene in any incident, adding more fuel to the conflicts.When things had become so complicated, the security forces openedrandom fire and killed many Uyghur Turks on the street. This random fire killedapproximately 2,000 Uyghur Turks, including those who had come from Kashgar.Fire-trucks and garbage-collecting trucks were immediately mobilized onto thestreets. The corpses of the Uyghur people were taken to the garbage-collectingtrucks. The streets were cleaned up by the fire-trucks. According to the testimonyof eye-witnesses who prefer to remain anonymous, there were no traces left onthe street of the Uyghur people who had been killed. This was followed by alltelephone lines, the Internet and the electricity infrastructure of the city beingswitched off. Electricity was restored back around 10 pm and house-raids started,lasting until early morning. Chinese soldiers in balaclavas raided the houses ofthe Uyghur people, arresting many Uyghur Turks, including men, women andchildren. Those who resisted were killed in front of their children. When therelatives of the people under arrest inquired after them, they were told that theseraids were to be registered as terrorist action because those who had carried themout were not the police; those who were taken away during these raids were to berecorded as “lost”. Those who were taken away that night could not return to theirhomes. Some of them were delivered to their families as corpses, whereas somehave yet to be found. With the support of the Chinese troops, the Chinese peopleinitiated an attack against the Uyghur region on the following day. The Chinesepeople -backed by Chinese soldiers- attacked the houses and offices of the Uyghurpeople and killed any Uyghur they could catch on the streets. Interestingly, allthese aggressors were carrying the same clubs used by the Chinese police.Some Uyghur police officers who work in the Chinese police departmenttestified in tears: Young girls who were taken from their houses and arrested werestripped naked and Chinese police officers repeatedly raped these young girls.Uyghur prisoners were deprived of food and water for days. After many dayswithout food and water, they were forced to drink salt water. The prisoners, theirthirst increasing due to the salt water, lost their minds and ended up drinking365
