East Turkistan After July 5/ Seyit Tumturkto migrate into the inner provinces of China on account of the great need for alabour force, the Chinese administration has been exploiting young Uyghurs as acheap labour-force since 2003. In other words, the Chinese administration heavilyabuses these young Uyghurs. They are forced to work for excessively long hours,even though their monthly wage is less than 500 Yuan. However, the monthlywage of a regular Chinese worker who works in the same factory for the samehours is more than 3,000 Yuan. The Uyghur youngsters who are forced to migrateto inner parts of China are subjected to insults and humiliation because of theirdifferent life styles and traditions; this is a very serious matter.With this background information we can understand how the crisis ofthe Uyghur people became aggravated and why the Uyghur people are now atime-bomb waiting to go off. An ethnic conflict can break out at any time. Thissituation has revealed the true colours of the ethnic humiliation and the policy ofoppression inflicted on the Uyghur people by the Chinese Government. However,the Communist Chinese administration has not taken this issue very seriously.The Chinese administration has remained with policies of ethnic humiliation andoppression, belittling the Uyghur people with the attitude that they are incapableof doing anything, or that what they are to do must be decided by the government.It is essential that political situation is more in tune with the reality.The tragic incident that took place in the toy factory of Hurai in the city ofShauguan in the Guangdong province on June 26 resulted in an explosion ofanger from our people. The Uyghur people, who had already been angered bythe ethnic discrimination, isolation and oppression policies inflicted on them bythe colonial Chinese administration, could not keep silent in the face of suchan unjust and bloody incident. They reacted strongly when Communist Chinaregarded such a serious massacre as a mere ordinary criminal act. That the ChineseAdministration covered up the main causes of the event, understated the deathtoll and casualties of the Uyghur people and failed to inflict any punishment forthe criminal behaviour in this incident, caused a greatly increased reaction andanger in the Uyghur people and led to the break-out of “the Urumchi incidentsof July 5”.Covering up the reality of the genocide in the Shanguvan-Guangdong, whichresulted in the Massacre of July 5, the colonialist Chinese government was making351
