And this is only the beginning.With a clear direction for the political resistance movement, shitizens Chinawill exert greater and greater pressure on the Communist regime and eventualcause the stockholders of Corporate China to differentiate and divide. They willgo their separate ways for two reasons: First, because the shitizens are much largerin numbers than the elites, Shitizen China indicates the future of China, and theelite China will cease to exist. In order to hedge the future certain members of theelite may want to form an alliance with the winning side at a certain point in time.Second, not every stockholder of China, Inc. is a devil heinous enough to conductthe evil cause to the graveyard. Many of them need to find a balance betweeninterests and conscience. Under the pressure of the struggle between good and evil,the old equilibrium point will be broken and they will find a new balance point,which is to draw a line between themselves and the old political order. Google’sstanding up against the bullying of the Chinese government is just one example.These breaking-off elite members will contribute to a common foundation forthe future democratic China and push for the birth of this democratic China.Where can we find a common ground to lay the foundation for the futuredemocratic China? We should build a political language system that can serve as atwo-way bridge over the gap between shitzen China and elite China. We need togradually develop a consensus based on universal values. And that is exactly whatCharter 08 is intending to accomplish. Such a common political language systemwill become more and more popular and influential with the help of the internetand other related high-tech products. Therefore, the international communityadding pressure to the Chinese government regarding internet freedom is directand effective support for democracy in China.557
