Do you have any contact or relation with Rabia Kadir Hanımor the World Uygur Council?”The youth, who preferred to remain anonymous, answered as follows: “Wehave absolutely no contact or relation to this body. We have only just heard thename of Rabia Kadir Hanım. We have no information about the World UyghurCouncil, or what it is. We just carried out the demonstrations to demand thatthe government find those who had killed the Uyghur workers in the toy factory.However, they dispersed us with weapons. Could you please tell me where else inthe world could such a thing happen? China is connecting this matter to externalforces in an attempt to cover up the policy of genocide that it uses against us. Anysuch accusation by the Chinese administration is totally groundless.”A European citizen -who remains anonymous- observed the events of July5 and gave the following answer to the question posed by the Radio Free Asiacorrespondent, Erkin Tarim:“The Chinese are taking away the wealth of our land, and they leave nothingfor the Uyghur people. The Uygur people have no employment. The Chinese donot recognize the right of the Uyghur people to live. Moreover, they are forcingUyghur youth to move to inner parts of China where the Chinese workers arepaid 3,000 Yuan (430 dollars) monthly, while the Uyghur workers are paid only300 Yuan (43 dollars). What can they do under such circumstances? The Chinesegovernment has degraded the honour of these people -both men and women- byforcing them into the interior of China. Do you understand what I am saying?The Chinese rape even boys. Did these youngsters move to these places willingly?No. My father helped some of these youngsters, who escaped back after suchexperiences, to find jobs here. All these events are true; I have witnessed themmyself.”The Chinese media claims that Uyghur and Chinese people live together inpeace and prosperity, but that external powers, jealous of this peace and prosperity,have ignited such events. Moreover, the Chinese media has gone so far as towrite that the events of July 5 in Urumchi were kicked off by Memhet Kadir, thebrother of Rabia Kadir.519
