FREEEAST TURKISTAN SYMPOSIUMand was a place where many important people resided. The head of the Americanmission and the world famous archaeologist U.S. Pumpelly, having studied theartifacts he found, reported that the New Stone Age occurred in Turkistan ninethousand years before Christ.Livestock and animals were used here eight thousand years before Christ. The indigenous people were working with metal six thousand years beforeChrist. Some archaeological monuments are now preserved at the BritishMuseum. European missionaries, such as Sun Haydn, Konnenar Iarring, andmany others, discovered relics and took them to their own countries. In Sweden, thousands of documents and relics have proven that East Turkistan, occupiedby Communist China in 1949 and renamed Xinjiang (new land-Al-Arath AlGadidah), originally belonged to the Uyghur Turks. A fact overlooked by manypeople is that East Turkistan is located completely outside the Great Wall ofChina, a barrier that was constructed to protect China from the raids of the socalled“barbaric” tribes. This is yet more historical evidence that Turkistan hasnever been a part of China.Turkesten Timor is the only country in the world where the language ofits people is one, their religion is one and their doctrine and jurisprudence areone; they are of one sect, the Hanafi school and their traditions and customs allclosely resemble one another. Whatever the power of the invaders and the settlers, they have not been able to disrupt the unified moral and spiritual strength of theUyghur people. But the people of Turkistan have suffered repeated invasions andoccupation by China for nearly 200 years; the most recent occupation was thatmade by Communist China in 1949.If we examine the history of these people, we discover that there have beenmany established nations and autonomous entities throughout its long history. For example, a few states have been built on the land of East Turkistan:The Orkhon Uyghur State (646-840)The Kara-Khanid Khanate State (840 - 1212 )The Sadie Uyghur State (1514-1679)The Kashgaria State, which was founded by Bedevlet Yakub Beg (1860-1875 AD)586
