Table 3-5 Parameters in the Setup.ini File
Parameter Description
PIDKEY=CD_key CD_key is the key for the product.
SPSROOT=path_for_files Path_for_files is the file path that defines the
installation location for the program files for
SharePoint Portal Server.
SPSSEARCHDATA=path_for_search_files Path_for_search_files is the file path that
defines the installation location for the content
index files.
INSTALLMODE=[0,1] To install SharePoint Portal Server with the
database engine, install mode is 1. To install
SharePoint Portal Server without the database
engine, install mode is 0. This is required to set
up SharePoint Portal Server from the command
line.
ACCOUNTNAME=DOMAIN\account_name DOMAIN\account_name is the account name
for the application pool for the installation
without the database engine. This is required if
install mode is 0.
ACCOUNTPASSWORD=password Password is the password for the account
name for the application pool. This is required
if install mode is 0.
Warning: When you put the password in the
Setup.ini file, the password is in plain text.
INSTALLLOCATION=path_to_directory Path_to_directory is the file path that defines
the installation location for additional MSIs that
you include in the Setup.ini file.
Tip Preface the parameters with Arg= and a space, as shown in this example:
