If you previously specified an account for the site restriction rule for a site and do
not want to use the default content access account (default crawling account), specify
the account again after applying alternate portal site access settings, as follows:
1. On the Site Settings page, in the Search Settings and Indexed Content section,
click Configure search and indexing.
2. On the Configure Search and Indexing page, in the Other Content Sources
section, click Manage content sources.
3. On the Manage Content Sources page, rest the pointer on This portal, click
the arrow that appears, and then click View Gatherer Log on the menu that
appears.
4. On the Gatherer log details page, in the Actions list, click Exclude and
Include Content.
5. On the Exclude and Include Content for Portal_Content page, rest the pointer
on the name of the site restriction for the site (for example, server_name), click
the arrow that appears, and then click Edit on the menu that appears.
6. On the Edit Rule page, in the Specify Authentication section, click Specify
crawling account. In the Account box, type the user name or ID that can access
the resources in this URL space. Examples are user_name, user_name@org, or
DOMAIN\user_name. In the Password box, type the password for this user
name. This password is protected and can be used only to access the needed
resources for the purpose of crawling content. In the Confirm password box,
type the password for this user name again, and click OK.
7. Click Configure Search and Indexing at the top of the Exclude and Include
Content for Portal_Content page.
8. On the Configure Search and Indexing page, in the Other Content Sources
section, click Manage content sources. On the Manage Content Sources
page, rest the pointer on Site directory, click the arrow that appears, and then
click View Gatherer Log on the menu that appears.
9. On the Gatherer log details page, in the Actions list, click Exclude and Include
Content. On the Exclude and Include Content for Non_Portal_Content page,
rest the pointer on the name of the site restriction for the site (for example,
server_name), click the arrow that appears, and then click Edit on the menu
that appears.
10. On the Edit Rule page, in the Specify Authentication section, click Specify
crawling account. In the Account box, type the user name or ID that can
access the resources in this URL space. In the Password box, type the password
for this user name. In the Confirm password box, type the password
for this user name again, and then click OK.
