358 Part V: Administration of Windows SharePoint Services
Regardless of the value you place in the Start Sending Notifications field, if
you choose daily notification, the value must be between 28 and 168 days. As you
look at the options, it will be obvious that the relationship between the values in
the fields must make sense. For instance, you can’t set the Start Sending Notifications
field for 15 days, and the Check For Unused Site Collections setting to
monthly notification, because that makes no sense. It would be impossible to start
sending notifications 15 days after the site was last used if the system is only checking
on a monthly basis. However, when you set incompatible values, the user interface
will give you a warning, as it always does, at the top of the window in red
lettering. See Figure 15-4.
Manage User Rights for Virtual Server Settings
As an administrator, if you want to allow or limit certain actions your users perform,
you can disable or enable the associated right on the virtual server. For example, if
you do not want users to be able to add pages to a website, you can disable the Add
And Customize Pages right. When you disable a right on a virtual server, it cannot be
assigned to any site group and, as a result, cannot be granted to any user of a site
on the virtual server.
Note If a user already has a right, and you disable that right, the right is
also disabled for that user.
