4. Click New Web Part.<br />

5. On the Web Part Gallery: New Web Part Page, as illustrated in Figure 31-7,<br />

select the check box for any Web Part that you want to add to the site gallery.<br />

These are all the Web Parts that are identified as safe in the SafeControls section<br />

of an applicable Web.config file.<br />

6. Optionally, type a name for the .dwp file for each Web Part that you selected.<br />

A default file name is entered automatically, based on the class name.<br />

7. Click Populate Gallery. A minimal .dwp file is created automatically <strong>and</strong><br />

added to a gallery named Gallery.<br />

Web Parts that are added to a gallery become available to that site<br />

<strong>and</strong> to all sites under it.<br />

If you have installed a Web Part Package <strong>and</strong> you need to add the Web Parts<br />

to the gallery, you can use the Upload Web Part button to add the new Web Parts to<br />

the gallery.<br />

Web Parts can be organized into groups for easy filtering in the gallery. You<br />

can specify which group a Web Part belongs to when you add a Web Part to the Web<br />

Part Page gallery. Groups are optional—you can add a Web Part without specifying<br />

a group.<br />

You can remove a Web Part from the gallery by clicking the Edit icon next to<br />

the .dwp file name on the Web Part Gallery page <strong>and</strong> then clicking Delete. You can
