Incidentally, inserting the same Announcement LVWP into the page by using
FrontPage 2003 will result in a slightly different default view that includes only the
Title and Modified fields and a Full Toolbar. No difference in functionality results,
just a different default.
The default fields might be fine for some applications. But SharePoint Products
and Technologies let you change the columns displayed by the LVWP to any List
View Page previously defined for the list. In fact, choosing the Edit The Current
View link when modifying an LVWP in the browser, using the Data View Details task
pane for the LVWP in FrontPage 2003, or choosing the Properties option from a list
or library folder in the Folder List in FrontPage 2003 provides the ability to choose
any of the fields on the list we would like to see displayed. None of these methods
requires the creation of a separate List View Page.
To change the fields displayed in an LVWP by using FrontPage 2003 using the
Data View Details task pane
1. From the page that contains the LVWP in FrontPage 2003, right-click the LVWP,
and choose List View Properties from the menu to open the Data View
Details task pane. (See Figure 32-10.) By default, it opens docked to the right
side of FrontPage 2003.
