Chapter 31: Working with Web Parts 835
■ Links for You. Used to display links targeted to you. This is one of the
default Web Parts placed on your Private View of the My Site Web Part Page
and a portal site’s home page. This is based on the Grouped Listings Web Part.
Only a subset of the properties is available to you to personalize on your personal
website, My Site.
■ My Alerts Summary. Used to display your alerts and alert results. This is
one of the default Web Parts placed on your Private View of the My Site Web
Part Page.
■ My Calendar. Used to display your calendar. This is one of the default Web
Parts placed on your private view of the My Site Web Part Page. To configure
this Web Part, click open the tool pane. You need to set three properties:
Exchange folder name (by default, this is Calendar), the Mail server address
(for example, http://mail.woodgrovebank.com/exchange), and your mailbox ID.
■ My Inbox. Used to display your inbox. This Web Part interfaces with
Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 and is very similar to the My Calendar Web
Part in that you have to configure the same three properties. However, the
default for the Exchange folder name for this Web Part is inbox.
■ My Links. One of the default Web Parts placed on your Private View of the
My Site Web Part Page.
■ My Mail Folder. Used to display the mail folder you specify. It works with
Microsoft Exchange 2003. This defaults to your inbox, but it can be changed by
amending the Exchange folder name custom property that is displayed in the
Mail Configuration category section on the Properties tool pane.
■ My Tasks. Used to display your tasks as stored in Exchange.
■ My Workspace Sites. Used to display your workspace sites.
■ News for You. One of the default Web Parts placed on your Private View of
the My Site Web Part Page.
■ Your Recent Documents. One of the default Web Parts placed on your
Shared View of My Site Web Part Page that displays documents you recently
opened.
Windows SharePoint Services–Specific Web Parts
There is only one Web Part specific to Windows SharePoint Services:
■ Members. Use this Web Part to see a list of the site members and their online
status. This Web Part is available by default on a Windows SharePoint Services
website but not on a portal site.
