Chapter 32: Using Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 to Customize SharePoint Products 861
Additional FrontPage 2003 Features that Can Be Disabled when
Editing a SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Site
FrontPage 2003 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003 make it possible for you to specify
features to disable in FrontPage 2003 when portal sites created with SharePoint
Portal Server 2003 are opened in FrontPage 2003.
Template Locations
Disabling features is done by flagging an attribute in an XML file called onet.xml that
is associated with each SharePoint Portal Server 2003 template used in a portal site.
The attribute in the onet.xml file tells FrontPage 2003 (and other authoring tools) to
disable specific features.
To change the list of features and functionality to disable in FrontPage 2003
when SharePoint Portal Server 2003 sites are opened, you will need to edit the
onet.xml file that corresponds with each template used on the site. Table 32-1 shows
the list of templates used in SharePoint Portal Server 2003 sites, with their locations
on the server:
