Installing the Component for Backward-Compatible
Document Libraries
Backward-compatible document libraries allow you to access the same store (the
extensible storage engine Web storage system) that was available in SharePoint Portal
Server 2001. If you don’t have a previous version of SharePoint Portal Server, you
will not need to install this feature. If, however, you need to retain the old store system
or if you’d like to use the workflow features that come with this database, you
can install the optional component for backward-compatible document libraries on
either a computer that has SharePoint Portal Server 2003 installed or on a computer
without SharePoint Portal Server installed.
Install the Component for Backward-Compatible Document Libraries
