■ If the file exceeds the maximum file size<br />

■ If the file has a filename that includes braces—for example, a filename.(doc)<br />

■ If the file is a blocked file type<br />

The default maximum upload file size limit is 50 MB <strong>and</strong> applies to the combined<br />

size if you are using the Multiple Upload file feature.<br />

A similar Upload Document form, now labeled Web File Properties, will also<br />

be displayed if, for example, <strong>Microsoft</strong> Office 2003 or Office XP is used to save a file<br />

to a document library. These properties can be viewed <strong>and</strong> edited by using either<br />

the browser or <strong>Microsoft</strong> Office applications.<br />

Uploading Files by Using Explorer View<br />

Although the Upload Document link is available in the Explorer view, the simplest<br />

method for moving files to the new site is to drag <strong>and</strong> drop files or folders into the<br />

Explorer view of a document library.<br />

To drag <strong>and</strong> drop files by using the Explorer view<br />

1. On the top link bar, click Documents <strong>and</strong> Lists.<br />

2. Click the document library to which you want to add files.<br />

3. In the Select a View list, click Explorer View.<br />

4. Open a Windows Explorer window, <strong>and</strong> find the folder with the files that you<br />

want to copy to the document library.<br />

5. Select the desired files, <strong>and</strong> then drag them into the document library in the<br />

browser window.<br />

Add Files by Using Upload Multiple Files<br />

If <strong>Microsoft</strong> Office 2003 is installed, the Upload Document form will contain an<br />

Upload Multiple Files link. Once clicked, an Explorer-like view consisting of two<br />

panes will be displayed, as illustrated in Figure 19-11. The left pane is the navigation
