Internet Explorer 5.2 for Macintosh
Note Disk space requirements depend largely on the site’s content and
function. If, for example, the site’s function is to simply list activities for a
team, not much space will be needed. By contrast, if the site stores all the
Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for a sales team, the space requirements
would be much larger. Be sure to interview your users, plan according
to your unique needs, and build in room to grow.
Extract Windows SharePoint Services Installation Files
If you’ve downloaded the Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 files, you can execute
the Stsv2.exe file to start the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Setup program;
but, to use any command-line installation options (such as the /datadir or
/remotesql=yes properties) to install Windows SharePoint Services, you will need to
extract the setup files by using a decompression utility such as WinZip or PKZip.
You can also simply type stsv2.exe /c /t:c:\temp at the command line to extract
the files to the c:\temp directory (or another directory of your choosing). Should
you extract the files, use the Setupsts.exe file to install the product.
Install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0
Internet Explorer 6 with the latest
Service Pack and hotfixes
applied
Office System Microsoft Office 2000 Microsoft Office System 2003
For Windows SharePoint Services to install, IIS 6.0 must be installed in Worker Process
Isolation Mode, and ASP.NET must be installed. You can use the Manage Your
Server Wizard to configure the W2K3 box as an application server, which installs all
necessary components for Windows SharePoint Services. Alternatively, you can
install the IIS and ASP.NET components from Add/Remove Programs.
