Adding an XML FileData Source<br />

FrontPage will automatically create a data source in the catalog for any XML file in<br />

the site. This works the same as SharePoint lists <strong>and</strong> document libraries.<br />

To add a new XML File data source<br />

1. First you must have an XML file. You have the following options for obtaining<br />

an XML file:<br />

■ Create a new XML file. (In FrontPage 2003, create a new Text file <strong>and</strong><br />

then save it as XML.)<br />

■ Search your hard drive for an XML file installed with some other sample.<br />

(This is the option we took.)<br />

■ Use an XML file you find on the Internet.<br />

For this example, we will use an XML file available on the Internet called<br />

cust-ord.xml.<br />

More Info Download the actual XML file used in this example, <strong>and</strong> save<br />

it on your local machine as cust-ord.xml. The File is available at http:<br />

//www.sharepointcustomization.com/resources/whitepapers/webpartdocs/<br />

cust-ord.xml.<br />
