8. In the Export Certificate Summary dialog box, verify that the FQDN used in<br />

the certificate is the external FQDN; in our example, it is external.contoso.com.<br />

Check other certificate details, <strong>and</strong> then click Next.<br />

9. In the Completing the Web Server Certificate Wizard dialog box, click Finish.<br />

Importing the Certificate into ISA Server 2000<br />

The next step is to import the certificate file into the ISA Server 2000 machine certificate<br />

store. Before starting to import the certificate to the ISA Server 2000, verify the<br />

following:<br />

■ The Certificate .pfx file can be accessed from ISA Server machine.<br />

■ The Certificates MMC console is available on ISA Server.<br />

If the Certificates MMC snap-in is not available, you need to add the Certificates<br />

snap-in to the existing MMC console. To add the Certificates snap-in, do the following:<br />

1. Open the console where you would like the snap-in to be added. To open a<br />

blank console, click Start, click Run, <strong>and</strong> then type mmc in the Open box.<br />

Click OK.<br />

2. In the MMC console window, select File, <strong>and</strong> then Add/Remove Snap-in.<br />

3. In the Add/Remove St<strong>and</strong>alone Snap-in dialog box, click Add.<br />

4. In the Add/Remove St<strong>and</strong>alone Snap-in dialog box, select Certificates from<br />

the list of available snap-ins, <strong>and</strong> then click Add.<br />

5. In the Certificates snap-in dialog box, select the Computer account option,<br />

<strong>and</strong> click Next.<br />

6. In the Select Computer dialog box, select Local computer: (the computer<br />

this console is running on). Click Finish.<br />

7. Click Close in the Add/Remove St<strong>and</strong>alone Snap-in dialog box, <strong>and</strong> then<br />

click OK in the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box.<br />

To import the certificate file using the Certificates MMC console, perform the<br />

following steps:<br />

1. In the Certificates MMC console, exp<strong>and</strong> the Certificates (local computer),<br />

right-click the Personal certificate store, <strong>and</strong> select All Tasks - Import.<br />

2. In the Welcome to the Certificate Import Wizard dialog box, click Next.<br />

3. Type the file name of the certificate .pfx file in the File name box, or use the<br />

Browse button to navigate to the file. Click Next.<br />

4. In the Password box, type the password you created when you exported the<br />

certificate from the portal site, <strong>and</strong> click Next.

Hooray! Your file is uploaded and ready to be published.
