Add Data View
The cust-ord.xml file contains data that is hierarchically organized. We will now select
data from various places in the hierarchy and create a Data View that presents the data
in the desired way. Specifically, we want to display the name of each company and
the names, quantity, unit price, and total price of the products they have ordered.
In doing so, we want to preserve the hierarchy—that is, we want the product
information for a given company to appear under that company name. Add a new
page to the root directory of the FrontPage 2003 project, and name it Hierarchy.aspx.
To add an initial Data View of the XML to your Web page

1. From within FrontPage 2003, open the empty page Hierarchy.aspx in Design
mode. Click Insert Web Part Zone from the Data menu to create Zone 1 at
the top of the empty page.
2. Click Insert Data View on the Data menu to open the Data Source Catalog
task pane.
3. Expand the XML Files folder by clicking the plus sign (+), exposing the
cust-ord.xml data source that we created earlier in the section about the Data
Source Catalog task pane.
4. Position the cursor on the data source, and click the right arrow at the end of
the name.
5. Click the Show Data option on the resulting context menu to open the Data
View Details task pane. (See Figure 32-63.)
