5. In the Step 2: Choose Permissions section, under Permissions, select the<br />

level of permissions for the user or group, <strong>and</strong> then click Next.<br />

6. In the Step 3: Confirm Users section, verify that the e-mail address, user<br />

name, <strong>and</strong> display name for the user or group are correct.<br />

7. If you want to notify the user or group of their permissions with an e-mail<br />

message, in the Step 4: Send E-Mail section, select the Send the following<br />

e-mail to let these users know they’ve been added check box, <strong>and</strong> fill in<br />

the text you want to send.<br />

8. Click Finish.<br />

If you want to restrict your list to a specific set of users, you must both grant<br />

access to the individual users <strong>and</strong> remove access from other site members.<br />

To remove list permissions for a user, group, or site group<br />

1. Navigate to the list, <strong>and</strong> then in the left pane, click Modify settings <strong>and</strong><br />

columns.<br />

2. On the Customize “Listname” page, in the General Settings section, click<br />

Change permissions for this .<br />

3. Select the check box next to the site group, user, or group you want to remove<br />

permissions for, <strong>and</strong> then click Remove Selected Users.<br />

If you no longer want to use unique permissions for a particular list, you can<br />

reset the permissions to use the website’s general permissions.<br />

To reset permissions to the default state<br />

1. Navigate to the list, <strong>and</strong> then in the left pane, click Modify settings <strong>and</strong><br />

columns.<br />

2. On the Customize “Listname” page, in the General Settings section, click<br />

Change permissions for this .<br />

3. Click Inherit permissions from the parent Web site.<br />

4. Click OK to change to inherited permissions.<br />

Note The Inherit Permissions link does not appear unless the list permissions<br />

have already been customized.
