Virtual Server General Settings
The Virtual Server General Settings page contains several options that apply
throughout the virtual server. When you configure a setting for a virtual server, it
takes priority over settings applied on specific sites of that virtual server. For example,
if you disable alerts for a virtual server, no site or subsite can use alerts. For
more information about how each setting is treated at different levels, see the specific
topic for that setting.
The settings you can configure on the Virtual Server General Settings page are
detailed in the following sections.
Time Zone to Use for the Virtual Server
Select a time zone to use for all sites created on this virtual server as shown in Figure
15-6. The time zone setting can also be changed for a top-level or subsite. To
change the time zone for a site, click Site Settings, and then under the heading
Administration, click Go To Site Administration. Now from the Top-Level Site
Administration menu, click Change Regional Settings under the heading Management
And Statistics.

Configuring Time Zone from the Command Line
If you prefer to change the time zone setting from the command line, use the
Stsadm.exe command with the following parameters:
Stsadm.exe –o setproperty –pn defaulttimezone
You will need to know the numerical value for the time zone you want to use.
Replace the defaulttimezone parameter with this numerical value.
Default Quota Template for Sites Created Under the Virtual Server
You can specify the default quota template to use. (See Figure 15-6.)
