The server number will change for each server. For example, if you have<br />

three front-end Web servers in addition to the primary front-end Web server,<br />

your file for the first server would contain the following:<br />

Test SSL on front-end Web server 1.<br />

Your file for the second server would contain the following:<br />

Test SSL on front-end Web server 2.<br />

2. Move this file to the root folder of your site. By default, the root folder for the<br />

Default Web Site is :\Inetpub\wwwroot.<br />

3. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. In the console tree, exp<strong>and</strong><br />

the computer name node, <strong>and</strong> then exp<strong>and</strong> the Web Sites node.<br />

4. Right-click Default Web Site, point to New, <strong>and</strong> then click Virtual Directory.<br />

5. On the Welcome to the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard page, click Next.<br />

6. On the Virtual Directory Alias page, in the Alias box, type the name for the virtual<br />

directory, for example, test, <strong>and</strong> then click Next.<br />

7. On the Web Site Content Directory page, in the Path box, specify the path to<br />

the website root directory, such as :\Inetpub\wwwroot, <strong>and</strong><br />

then click Next.<br />

8. On the Virtual Directory Access Permissions page, click Next. Do not change<br />

the default values that are selected.<br />

9. On the You have successfully completed the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard<br />

page, click Finish.<br />

10. On the SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration for server_name page,<br />

under Links to related administration home pages, click Windows Share-<br />

Point Services.<br />

11. On the Windows SharePoint Services Central Administration page, in the Virtual<br />

Server Configuration section, click Configure virtual server settings.<br />

12. On the Virtual Server List page, click Default Web Site.<br />

13. On the Virtual Server Settings page, in the Virtual Server Management section,<br />

click Define managed paths.<br />

14. On the Define Managed Paths page, in the Add a New Path section, do the<br />

following:<br />

a. In the Path box, type /test.<br />

b. In Type, click Excluded path.<br />

c. Click OK.
