Chapter 32: Using Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 to Customize SharePoint Products 881
4. Type a name for the region in the Region name box, such as “content”, click
the Add button, and then click the Close button. The editable region in
the DWT has now been defined. Save the DWT by clicking Save on the
File menu.
5. Attach the pages you want to use the DWT design. If you want to attach more
than one page to a DWT at one time, the easiest way is to multiple-select them
in the folder list by using CTRL+click (for selective choices) or SHIFT+Click (for
consecutive choices).
Tip If a DWT includes Web Parts or other ASPNET controls or code, the
attached pages must have the .aspx file extension. You will be prompted to
save pages with the .aspx file extension when this condition occurs.
6. Once the page or pages are selected, click Dynamic Web Template from the
Format menu, and then click Attach Dynamic Web Template to open the
Attach Dynamic Web Template dialog box. Click the name of the DWT you
want to attach to these pages, and then click Open to attach the DWT to each
of the pages.
7. Open a page attached to the DWT and then edit the regions marked as
editable. In this example, the editable region would be marked on the page
with an orange border and the name given to the editable region would be
“content.”
Tip Users are unable to edit regions that are controlled by the DWT.
Advanced Find and Replace
You can use the enhanced find and replace features in FrontPage 2003 to make
updates to Web pages or directly to the HTML code. For example, you could replace
all the links to a particular graphic file or change an e-mail address that appears
throughout your site by using the find and replace feature in FrontPage 2003. To
access this feature, click Find on the Edit menu. Or you can use the keyboard shortcuts
CTRL+F for Find and CTRL+H for Replace. This opens the Find And Replace dialog
box. (See Figure 32-26.)
