Additional properties include: Start and Expiration dates for the listing and
approval status on the Publishing tab; and whether you want to include the listing
in search results on the Search tab. Because the whole purpose of a listing is to
allow users to find information, the text you type on this page is important if you are
to meet your goal.
The methods used to add a link item to a Portal Listings list mentioned earlier
in this section include navigating to a document library, clicking the document’s
drop-down menu, and selecting Submit To Portal Area. Doing this will display the
Add Listing page.
A second method is to navigate to an area’s Portal Listings list by clicking Manage
Content on the area’s Web page and selecting Portal Listings on the Document
And Lists page. The Portal Listings list is displayed in the All Listings view. An alternative
method of getting to the same page that doesn’t work for all areas is to navigate
to the area, click Edit Page, and then click Manage Grouping And Ordering.
The Portal Listings list is now displayed using the Grouping And Ordering view, as
illustrated in Figure 20-9.
