SNMP 103 Auth fail IP=xxxxxxxx, community=ssssssss
Description: The community name in a PDU from a management station was either
not found in the list of configured community names, or a SET Request was received
and the community name was not configured to allow SETs.
Variable: xxxxxxxx The IP address of the management station from which the PDU
was received, in 32-bit hex format.
Variable: ssssssss The community name received from that management station.
Action: The SNMP Agent and the management station must be configured to use the
same community names. These names are case sensitive. Check the community and
communitySET configuration statements for the SNMP Agent. Refer to the ENS
Installation, Configuration, and Operations Guide (7441 2065), for a detailed
description and options for these statements.
In some cases an unauthorized management station trys to gain access to the SNMP
Agent. In this case the CENLOG indicates that an unauthorized access has been
attempted, and the CENLOG can be ignored.
SNMP 104 Auth failure and not enabled
Description: Indicates that the SNMP Agent wanted to send an authentication failure
trap PDU to a management station, but that the sending of these traps was not
enabled in the SNMP Agent’s configuration.
Action: Authentication failure traps are enabled by the snmpEnableAuthenTraps
statement in the SNMP Agent’s configuration. If you enable authentication failure
traps, this CENLOG does not occur.
SNMP 105 Bad ASN.1 parse
Description: The length of a PDU from a management station, that is contained
within the PDU, is longer than the actual PDU received. The PDU is discarded.
Action: Single occurrences can be ignored. This indicates an error in the PDU
building code in the management station. An SNMP trace with TYPE=M can be used
to capture the offending management PDU.
SNMP 106 Bad authentication header
Description: A message was received by the SNMP Agent which did not have the
format of an SNMP PDU. The message is discarded.
Action: If this CENLOG occurs repeatedly, an SNMP trace with TYPE=M can be used
to capture the offending message.
