IP Router Messages
Event 3 EVENT/ERROR DETECTED AT L3 (NETWORK)
The IP Router component of the ENS program product generates the following CENLOG
messages. All IP Router supplementary messages begin with the prefix IP, a five digit
event identifier, and an internal software component identifier, for example MIP (IP
manager) or FLIP (IP interface).
If you change the default logging or trace level (OFF) to LOW, MED, or HIGH on the
LOG or TRACE statements in the ENS configuration then CENLOG events other than the
ones documented below are reported by the IP Router. These additional events are
typically used for diagnostic purposes.
The following information is often displayed in IP Router supplementary messages:
• if_id is the first ten characters of the name specified on the name statement under the
interface’s IP section header. If no name statement is configured, if_id is
port=%%/if=&, where %% is the hexadecimal port number specified on a [PORTxy]
section header and & is the interface parameter value configured on an IP interface
(see rtr=&) section header.
• ilm=%%, where %% is the hexadecimal number of the physical port in which the IP
manager is running.
• rtr=&, where & is the router number specified on the router parameter on an
[ip_router], [ip_telcon], or IP interface ([ip_ethernet], [ip_fddi], [ip_tr], [ip_fr],
[ip_ppp], or [ip_interface]) section header.
Most IP Router messages are either “informational only” or indicate internal software
error conditions that are not amenable to local corrective action. The following standard
action applies unless more specific action is described.
Standard Action for IP Messages
If IP Router messages persist and seem to be related to an operational problem you are
having, restarting or reloading the line module that generates these messages may
eliminate messages. If the messages continue to display, report the problem to your
Unisys support representative. A long format CENLOG message listing and an ILM dump
of the ILM in which the IP manager is executing are usually required to diagnose and
resolve the problem.
IP 04020: FLIP UNREC DLCMAN primitive %
Description: The IP interface component has received an unrecognized message
type from DLCMAN. % is a hexadecimal internal message type code.
Action: Standard action.
