NMS and DSA <strong>Message</strong>s<br />

LOCAL LOG FILE SWITCH: xxxxxx FROM xxxxxx<br />

Description: Two local mass storage disk files (PRSTAT and ALSTAT) are cataloged<br />

during the system initialization phase. When local data collection has been<br />

configured, and either the primary or alternate file has been filled, this error message<br />

appears. It signifies that the current statistics file is full.<br />

Action: If you want a copy of the line statistics, you should initiate a retrieve of the<br />

switched file to a host or turn on the auto-retrieve function. Otherwise, the collection<br />

of statistics continues to toggle between the two files, overwriting previously<br />

collected statistics.<br />

LSM NOT AVAILABLE<br />

Description: NMS is not able to queue the SWT command to the LSM/RCM. This is<br />

usually caused by UDLC being turned off in the configuration.<br />

Operator Action: Check the configuration for UDLC related statements.<br />

MEMORY NOT PRESENT<br />

Description: Storage at the specified address in the INSP or CHNG command does<br />

not exist.<br />

Action: Verify the ADR parameters, and retry the command.<br />

MOUNT aaa , FILE=aaa , REEL=aaa , VOL=aaa<br />

Description: Mount the requested tape.<br />

NO FILES CATALOGED<br />

Description: No files are cataloged.<br />

NO MESSAGES WAITING<br />

Description: This message is received by the user who transmits a $$SEND when no<br />

USMs are queued for them.<br />
