Appendix A
X.25 PSCS Diagnostic Codes
Information in this appendix originates from the following specifications:
• Recommendation X.25, defined by the International Telecommunications
Union/Telecommunications Standardization Sector (ITU/TSS), formerly the
Consultative Committee for International Telegraph and Telephone (CCITT)
• International Standards Organization (ISO) 8208
• Public Data Networks Interfaces
Diagnostic Codes are reported by:
• The X.25 PSCS layer 3/4 platform interface (specific)
PSCS diagnostic codes pertain to a layer 4 program that sends a call request primitive
to layer 3 in PSCS. While the request is being processed, a call request reject can
occur for a number of reasons.
• The X.25 PSCS Packet Layer Services (PLS) Host interface (specific)
• Directly attached X.25 DTE (DAD) devices
• Packet Switched Public Data Networks (PDNs)
• X.25 PSCS (general)
• The DCE Network Feature
Coding of X.25 network generated diagnostic fields in clear, reset, and restart indication
packets are listed in the table below. In the description of the CENLOG, Register R11 will
contain the code listed in this table.
DCE Network Feature Diagnostic Codes
Diagnostic codes that may be contained in clear or reset packets generated by the DCE
Network feature when a virtual circuit connection is routed through the feature are listed
below. The DCE Network feature still passes through diagnostic codes generated by
another X.25 DTE device, PDN, or X.25 PSCS’s layer 3 module.
