Event 12 TCP–IP GATEWAY EVENT
TYPE parameter on the associated SUBNET statement. Some configured functions
may not be available. The TCP–IP Stack program product generates this CENLOG.
Action: Verify that all IP addresses and masks are specified correctly. Verify that the
correct TYPE parameter is used on the SUBNET statements.
IP: MASK nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn IN ERROR - MASK NOT CONTIGUOUS
Description: Configuration error. CIDR (RFC 1519) requires IP address masks to be
contiguous. This means that all “ones” must start at the most significant bit
(canonical), and no ones may follow the first “zero” in the mask.
Example:
Correct: 255.255.192.0
Incorrect: 255.255.3.0
TCP–IP Stack automatically correct’s the problem by filling in the zeros with ones.
This is done to allow TCP–IP Stack to execute correctly; it probably does not result in
a correct configuration.
IP: MESSAGE TOO LARGE, SRC ADR = !
Description: TCP–IP Stack discarded a received message that was too large.
TCP–IP Stack cannot handle messages that assemble to larger than 12,287 bytes.
TCP–IP Stack program product generates this CENLOG.
IP: MESSAGE TRACING IS NOT ON
Description: IP detected an internal error. This could indicate a serious software
fault. The TCP–IP Stack program product generates this CENLOG.
IP: MULTIPLE DNS SUBNETS FOUND
Description: IP found more than one SUBNET configuration of TYPE=IPDNS. The
TCP–IP Stack program product generates this CENLOG.
IP: NEED TO FRAGMENT OUTPUT BUT CANNOT
DESTINATION: !
MAX FRAGMENT SIZE: #
Description: IP is trying to send a datagram that may not be fragmented on a
network that requires this datagram to be fragmented. This could indicate a problem
with the configured DGSIZE parameter on the SUBNET statement. The TCP–IP Stack
program product generates this CENLOG.
