Event 8 ABNORMAL LINE TERMINATION FUNCTION
PP STATE ITEM RECEIVED (UNISCOPE)
Description: A PP state item has been posted for a serial UNISCOPE line. Other
information is as follows:
R8: PP instruction address where error occurred (PAO)
R9: Error type
R10: Error subtype
R12–R13: Real-time clock value at the time of the CENLOG
R14: Port ID of the port posting the state item
The port is left in the same state as when the error occurred to allow further online
investigation. A copy of the state item is saved (as a result of system state-item
processing for further analysis when a system dump is taken, regardless of any online
analysis). The state item and LCB are also shown if the long format of the CENLOG
display is retrieved.
The long format of the CENLOG for 4x1 lines displays part of the fixed space instead
of the stated item.
It should be noted that because the line is left in the state it was in when the error
occurred, an NMS STAT command may indicate that the line is still up, but
inoperative. This CENLOG is generated by UNILPH. For more information on
UNILPH CENLOG entry descriptions, refer to Section 1 of this manual.
Action: To reestablish an operational environment for the line, you will have to
execute the NMS DOWN and UP commands for that line. See the DCP Series
Communications Processor Architecture Programming Reference Manual (7431
5805) for a description of the error type/error subtypes and their possible causes.
TTYLPH
Description: This event occurs after the maximum unsuccessful retries of a
recoverable line-error. The supplementary message on the CENLOG tells whether it
was an input or an output message. If this event occurs, the line is disconnected (and
the terminals, if any) are signed off. The preceding CENLOGs for the recoverable
errors should be examined to determine the source (hardware, configuration, or
device) of the error so that corrective action can be taken. No additional information
is logged. Telcon generates this CENLOG.
