HCC
Event 4 PORT PROCESSOR (PP) SPECIFICATION EXCEPTION
Description: HCC has received a state-item from a host channel port. If the stateitem
was due to an NMS DOWN command, the port is freed and the facility is marked
as down. If the state-item was due to a software or hardware error, an attempt is
made to restart the port.
R8: Current instruction offset in HCC
R9: TSID
R10: Port output chain address
R11: Port input chain address
R12: Op-code of instruction that errored: bits 15-8
Type of error: bits 7-5
R13:
Subtype of error: bits 4-0
Supplementary status
R14: PPID
R15: Input flags from AGSYSRTN
NTRLPH
Description: This event occurs whenever the PP hardware or the PP program
detects a fatal hardware or software error. The line is brought down after occurrence
of this event. If the error type and subtype (logged registers R9 & R10) do not indicate
a hardware error, this information should be the basis for submission of a UCF. Other
information logged:
R9: Error type code
R10: Error sub-type code
R12: Output chain execution address
R13: Input chain execution address
R14: PP-D. Values in other registers may be useful for debug. The PP state-item
buffer is logged in the first 64 (X'40') words. The LCB and SCT (site control
table) are logged in the remaining words of the log entry.
RMLPH
Description: Port hung; Unable to force state-item by clearing the ‘C’ bit; but, the
state-item was never received. This is a hardware or microcode problem.
R15: Port number
