Error Messages
Remote File System (RFS) Messages
Table 18–4 lists error messages that may accompany a work-order rejection message.
These messages are reported with the DDP status code 8, REPORT TEXT. If the command
was entered from an RFS console, these messages are displayed. If the command was
entered from a foreign system, these messages may not be displayed.
These messages indicate the command was not completed due to the reason specified.

PROTOCOL ERROR An internal system error has occurred.
DESTINATION FILE NOT
AVAILABLE, INDIRECT MODE NOT
SUPPORTED
The file is in use and the mode parameter is
INDIRECT, but only DIRECT and WAIT are supported
by Telcon.
SOURCE FILE EMPTY The file does not contain any data to copy.

OPERATOR CANCELED TAPE FILE

The destination file is too small to contain the source
file or the file-system detected a block number out of
range.
The tape file has been canceled by the operator.
A file record was received with more than 2,048
words.
The file is in use, the mode parameter is WAIT, and
the maximum amount of time allowed to wait for the
file has elapsed.
DESTINATION NAME UNKNOWN A remote target system is unknown; the RFS system
is not configured properly; or an internal system
error has occurred.
IPC DETECTED ERROR,
CLASS=>ipc error class<
CODE=>ipc error code<
An error is detected by the underlying IPC service
used by RFS. IPC error classes and codes are listed
in Tables 18–5 through 18–12.
FILE TRANSFER SESSION IS DOWN The session used by RFS has been lost.
AUTHORIZATION DENIED The UID parameter specified in the NMS RFS
command (the NMS command used to enter the RFS
mode) is not allowed to access a target DDP system
or an internal system error has occurred.
